A comprehensive transportation plan has been prepared under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31), which will be held in Antalya. Throughout the summit, participants will be transported by eco-friendly buses between hotels, the airport, the bus terminal, the city center and the conference venue.
The 630 buses, all produced in Türkiye and supplied by 25 municipalities, include 71 electric buses and 233 natural-gas buses, while the remainder are low-emission diesel vehicles.

More than 150,000 participants expected daily
Ahmet Sami Kulaklıoğlu, head of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change's Department of Support Services, said the conference venue would consist of two sections, the Blue Zone and the Green Zone. He said 50,000 participants were expected daily in the Blue Zone and more than 100,000 in the Green Zone. “COP is a climate summit. Therefore, we are using low-emission buses in the transportation system in line with the summit's purpose,” Kulaklıoğlu said.
A parking area with a capacity of 5,000 cars and 400 buses has been prepared on a 1.2-million-square-meter site. Nineteen routes have been established covering accommodation areas, particularly Belek, Kundu, Lara, Kemer and Alanya. The venue will also be accessible by tram from the city center.

Antalya gets its first natural-gas station
As Antalya had not previously had natural-gas buses, a new natural-gas station was built in the city. Kulaklıoğlu said the station would also be used for the city's public transportation after the summit. During the summit, material deliveries to the venue will take place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. to avoid disrupting traffic.
