ASELSAN announced its financial results for the first nine months of 2026 on the Public Disclosure Platform. The company's revenue for the period amounted to 151.5 billion liras.
New business secured in the first nine months reached $14 billion, while newly signed export contracts rose 34% to $1.9 billion. ASELSAN's backlog orders also surpassed $30 billion for the first time in the company's history.
Investments and backlog expanded
The company's investments during the nine-month period rose 228% to $684 million. A strong backlog, investments that increased production capacity and higher R&D spending were among the main drivers of growth.
Air defense, radar, electronic warfare, underwater systems, artificial intelligence-powered urban security, guided munitions, electro-optics and communications technologies were decisive in revenue generation. The ratio of orders received to sales rose to 4.4 in the third quarter.
ASELSAN's EBITDA margin increased by 190 basis points from the same period last year to 26.8%. EBITDA also rose 38% to 40.6 billion liras. The company said its trade receivables declined 11% from the end of 2025, supporting its balance-sheet structure.
R&D spending reaches $1.3 billion
Investments at the Oğulbey Technology Base and existing campuses increased during the nine-month period. The first phase of the Oğulbey Technology Base, whose foundation was laid in 2025, began operations, while new investments such as the Guided Munitions Systems Production Center were also commissioned.
Robotics and automation infrastructure was strengthened in the production of air, naval and land defense systems, increasing delivery capacity, speed and quality capabilities. R&D spending rose 36% year on year to $1.3 billion.
The company's investment areas included satellite technologies, quantum computing, underwater technologies, high-power microwave, microelectronics, smart munitions and propulsion systems. ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol announced at the International Astronautical Congress in Antalya that they had unveiled the low-Earth-orbit satellite concept for the first time.

Financing expenses decline
ASELSAN's operating cash flow amounted to 23 billion liras in the first nine months of 2026. Financial debt accounted for 14% of assets, while financing expenses declined 10.3% from the same period last year.
The company's equity ratio remained at 55%, while its balance-sheet size increased 15% from the end of 2025. Return on equity rose 400 basis points to 16.6%, and return on assets increased to 9%.
Akyol: We aim for a stronger ASELSAN in global competition
ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol said the company had not only grown in 2026 but had also changed the scale of its growth. Akyol said the company was undergoing a transformation across its operations, from orders and investments to production capacity and technological depth.
Akyol said dollar-denominated third-quarter growth was 18% in 2024, 29% in 2025 and 42% in 2026. He said ASELSAN had risen three places to 40th in the Defense News Top 100 list and was the first Turkish defense industry company to enter the Forbes Global 2000 list.
Akyol said the use of artificial intelligence in processes, digital transformation and the increasing share of high-value-added products in the portfolio had contributed to improvements in revenue and the EBITDA margin. He said growth was being assessed not only by its volume but also by its quality.
Akyol said ASELSAN was working on the ASTRALINK project to provide satellite communications services. He said the company was continuing its investments in satellite, quantum computing, underwater, high-power microwave and microelectronics technologies.
Akyol said the first phase of the Oğulbey Technology Base and new production centers had been commissioned, while the robotics and automation infrastructure had also been developed. He said the company's goal was to make ASELSAN one of the world's leading defense technology companies and a strong global technology brand.
