Communications Director Duran: UN must become fairer and more effective

Communications Director Duran issued a message on his NSosyal account to mark Oct. 24 United Nations Day and the 81st anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
Duran celebrated United Nations Day and the anniversary of the organization’s founding. He said it was important for the United Nations, established to protect global peace and security, to become a more effective and fair institution in line with its founding principles in the face of today’s crises and humanitarian challenges.
Emphasis on Gaza
Pointing to conflicts in various parts of the world, particularly the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, Duran said these developments showed that the international system needed to be reconsidered through a more inclusive, stronger and solution-oriented approach.
Duran said Türkiye would continue contributing to the establishment of a fairer international order under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, guided by the understanding that “the world is bigger than five.” His message emphasized Türkiye’s determination to remain a defender of peace, justice and human dignity.
