A new promotional film has been prepared for the 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31), which will be held in Antalya under Türkiye's hosting. Released with the message, "Hear the voice of the climate before the ice melts," the film recalls that more than 190 parties will gather in Antalya.
From the ice rink to the climate crisis
The approximately 1.5-minute film follows the performance of a young figure skater named "İklim," who competes internationally in a Turkish national team uniform. The performance begins before spectators watching with Turkish flags in the stands, then takes a dramatic turn as the ice beneath the skates cracks and breaks apart. With images of the athlete falling through the ice, the film emphasizes that "The climate is changing!" and calls on countries to attend COP31 for the future of the climate.

91 heads of state confirm attendance
Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum said in a speech at an event in Konya that 91 heads of state had so far confirmed they would attend COP31. Kurum said nearly 300 ministers and 1.5 million visitors are expected to attend the conference, where 196 countries will come together.
Kurum said, "In Antalya, we will strongly showcase Türkiye's experience, its experience in the earthquake zone, its institutional capacity and the experience of international organizations." COP31 is planned to take place at Antalya EXPO Center from November 9 to 20.
