Journalist Fatih Altaylı made important statements on his YouTube channel regarding the absolute nullity decision against CHP. Altaylı expressed that he predicted this decision would come after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's phone calls with US President Donald Trump. Altaylı said, "Before Ekrem İmamoğlu's detention in March 2025, Erdoğan had a meeting with Trump. Yesterday, that is, before the decision, another Trump meeting took place. When there is a Trump meeting, I told my journalist friends that the nullity is complete." The Ankara Regional Court of Justice 36th Civil Chamber had issued an absolute nullity and precautionary suspension decision against the CHP's 38th Ordinary and 21st Extraordinary Congresses and the Özgür Özel administration. Altaylı noted that the decision stirred the political agenda and that the trial did not proceed as expected. He also said the ruling party is struggling to increase its votes and therefore took steps to weaken CHP. Altaylı commented that the decision was an expected development and that the talks with Trump accelerated this process. Legal proceedings and possible effects related to the issue continue.
