Fenerbahçe head coach İsmail Kartal met with members of the press at the Can Bartu Facilities and made statements about the team’s goals, the players’ condition and the season plan.
Kartal said they had made good use of the international break and that his players shared a strong belief in the team’s ability to win the title. He said the atmosphere and energy within the team were good and expressed his belief that they would win the title together at the end of the season.

Kartal sends title message
Emphasizing their strong belief in winning the title, Kartal said he shared the same view as the president. The experienced coach said they wanted to maintain their unity through the end of the season and achieve their goal.
Kartal said Fenerbahçe would be a team that presses high, forces opponents into mistakes and plays effective positional attacking football. He added that they could continue with the current squad until the winter transfer window under the federation’s 10+4 rule.
Kartal said there were no major differences between players competing for the same positions and that the team’s overall level was good. He said Lukaku was physically behind Muric, that they were working to address the issue and that competition within the squad had increased.
Players’ fitness updates
Kartal said they were playing more strategic matches in Europe and announced that he expected injured defender Mert Müldür to recover within 4–5 weeks.
Kartal said Marco Asensio was in good health and training with the team, adding that the Spanish player was also in good spirits. He said he planned to start Asensio in a friendly match and believed the player could prepare in the best possible way and take his place in the team by the match against Çaykur Rizespor.

Kartal said Mert Hakan Yandaş, who had been away from official matches for a long time, had reached a good physical level. He added that Romelu Lukaku was also a very good professional and would reach his true performance level shortly.
Kartal explains the training program
Kartal said he was in constant contact with the president and that he and his staff spent most of their time in Samandıra. He added that the days when football involved simply conducting a training session and going home were over.
Kartal said planning training sessions, analyzing matches, monitoring opponents and putting the prepared work into practice on the field required intensive effort. He added that they had scored six goals from set pieces and that those goals were the result of their work. He also said everyone in the team had clearly defined responsibilities.
Kartal said the league was very difficult this season and predicted that teams competing for the title would drop more points than in previous years.
Kartal said they were working on possession and quickly winning back balls they lost, adding that they were focused on reducing the time needed to regain possession. He said adapting players with different styles of play to this system was not easy but that the team was moving in the right direction.
Kartal shares his message to the players
Kartal said he told his players that there was no yesterday in football after matches in which their performance had not been good. He urged them to shut out external influences and concentrate on the game, adding that players sometimes opted for more difficult choices because they wanted to prove themselves.
Kartal said he took responsibility first and foremost himself and that everyone at Fenerbahçe had to succeed. He emphasized that the team had to compete well and play good football in every match.
Comments on Ederson and the technical staff
Kartal said he had spoken with Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson at the start of the season and that the player told him he was happy. He said they had expressed their trust in Ederson, adding that the goalkeeper’s confidence increased as he succeeded and that his performance was at a good level after what had happened.

Kartal said he had a good relationship with football director Oğuz Çetin and that they worked well together. He also announced that they had benefited from the support of his former player Alexander Djiku in signing young center-back Kojo Oppong.
