CHP Izmir MP Kasım Kasapoğlu stated that they are following with concern the effects of the institutional turbulence within the main opposition party reaching Izmir.
Kasapoğlu expressed that the developments following the resignation of Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer have left the city facing a representation crisis in the axis of local governance.
Emphasizing that this situation cannot be read merely as an intra-party issue, Kasapoğlu said, "We are concerned that as a result of this chaotic situation, the local governance services in Izmir, which are already progressing heavily and haltingly, will evolve into a further state of paralysis."
Kasapoğlu used the expressions, "I want it to be known that this loss of institutional ground cannot be tolerated being presented as a brand new and convenient excuse and billed to the city as a lack of service."
Stating at the end of his remarks that they will continue to work for Izmir, Kasapoğlu said, "In all circumstances, we will continue to put our hand under the stone for Izmir and work with sincere effort for the future of our city."
