Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi said the Interior Ministry is fulfilling its responsibility in the field through a three-stage security approach aligned with the goal of a “Terror-Free Türkiye.” Çiftçi spoke at a “Terror-Free Türkiye” conference held at the university in Çorum after the opening of Hitit University’s Faculty of Theology Practice Mosque.
Çiftçi said the political and legal aspects of the process were proceeding through the will of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, adding: “As the Interior Ministry, we are fulfilling our responsibility in the field through a three-stage security approach that we briefly call ‘3T’: detection, monitoring and elimination.”
Three stages: detection, monitoring and elimination
Çiftçi said that in the first stage they identify the threat at its source and make every extension, logistical route and financial network of the separatist organization visible down to the smallest detail. He said that in the second stage they continuously monitor every development in the field and watch on the ground for the fulfillment of every promise made so that the disarmament and dissolution process does not falter.
Regarding the final stage, Çiftçi said: “In line with the goal set out by our esteemed President, we are continuing this struggle without compromise until weapons are completely removed from the equation and the terrorist organization is eliminated in all its elements.” Emphasizing that the three stages were not disconnected tasks but links in the same determination, the minister said: “Our aim is to permanently rid these lands of terrorism’s shadow and strengthen our brotherhood.”

Before the conference, Çiftçi opened Hitit University’s Faculty of Theology Practice Mosque. Çorum Governor Ali Çalgan, AK Party Deputy Chairman Hülya Terzioğlu, AK Party lawmakers from Çorum and Hitit University Rector Ali Osman Öztürk also attended the event.
Enacted by Parliament with 467 votes
Çiftçi recalled that the “Terror-Free Türkiye” initiative was put forward under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, gained strength with the call of Nationalist Movement Party Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, and acquired an institutional and legal foundation through the efforts of Grand National Assembly Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş. He said that following the work of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission established in Parliament, the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration was enacted with 467 votes in favor from members of Parliament.
Çiftçi noted that terrorism also carries a heavy economic cost, recalling that President Erdoğan had said its direct and indirect costs amounted to $2 trillion. He said that strengthening the climate of trust would enable the country to direct more of its resources toward education, science, technology and production.
