Murat Kazancı, Vice President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), was hosted at the residence of Türkiye's Embassy in Sofia.

Kazancı is in the Bulgarian capital to attend the 6th Balkan Think Tanks Meeting, held on October 26–27 in cooperation with YTB, the SETA Foundation and the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).

Bulgaria is home to one of the largest Turkish communities in the Balkans. Approximately 508,000 Turks live in the country, according to the 2021 census.
