The opening event was held for the “BLACKBOX: Ferrybox in the Black Sea” project, supported under the second call of the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, for which the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the National Authority.
Co-financed by the European Union, the project covers the use of “Ferrybox” systems in the Black Sea. Ferrybox systems are monitoring systems installed on vessels operating regular routes that automatically measure characteristics of seawater such as temperature and salinity.

The Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme aims to support cross-border cooperation among the countries bordering the Black Sea and those in the region. In addition to Türkiye, countries including Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Georgia, Armenia and Moldova participate in the programme.
