From his position appointed by Kılıçdaroğlu's "absolute nullity" decision, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel responded via his social media account to the decision to refer 9 deputies, who hold effective roles in the CHP administration, to the "Disciplinary Board" with a request for "definitive expulsion":
"CHP is the party of those who fight by paying a price, not of those who get permission from the Palace and prop up the Palace. Our deputies were elected by the nation, but only the nation can remove them. The appointed cannot create a parallel CHP within this party. This coup will be repelled, and the CHP will be governed by the elected, not the appointed."
The statement made from the "Özgür Özel İletişim" social media account was also shared by deputies from the CHP parliamentary group acting under Özgür Özel's chairmanship. In his full assessment regarding the initiation of a "disciplinary process" against nine deputies, Özgür Özel expressed the following views:
"Those without credentials appointed by the AK Party as 'null' cannot serve as Chairman in the CHP... The nullity administration, assigned for the continuation of Erdoğan's rule, is unlawfully seeking to refer 9 of our deputies to disciplinary action. In the honorable and combative history of the Republican People's Party, those who stand up for democracy and the will of the organization will be remembered with pride.
Those who usurp the will, those who proceed with fear and pressure, will be remembered with shame. We will continue to defend the voice of the organization and the will of our members against those trying to take over the father's home. CHP is the party of those who fight by paying a price, not of those who get permission from the Palace and prop up the Palace. Our deputies were elected by the nation, but only the nation can remove them.
The appointed cannot create a parallel CHP within this party. This coup will be repelled, and the CHP will be governed by the elected, not the appointed."
