President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the Istanbul Congress Center. The Directorate of Communications said the meeting took place on November 6.
Erdoğan also delivered a speech at the TRT World Forum 2026, held at the Istanbul Congress Center the same day. At the forum, organized under the theme “A World Without a Center,” Erdoğan said that the rules-based international system was eroding and that the ceasefire in Gaza was not being implemented.

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi serves as Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister and is president of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), one of the country’s established parties. Relations between Türkiye and Malaysia were elevated to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2022.
