Qatar is offering funding support to international tech startups through the Startup Qatar Investment Program, operated by Qatar Development Bank (QDB) to attract them to the country.
The program consists of two separate channels. The START channel provides up to $1.1 million to startups newly beginning operations in Qatar, while the GROW channel invests up to $5.5 million in global startups expanding their operations into Qatar. The funds are disbursed in installments as the targets agreed upon by the parties are met.
Visa, licensing and workspace support

In addition to funding, startups accepted into the program receive support including exemptions from company registration and license renewal fees, flexible work and entrepreneur visa options, and discounted coworking spaces.
Artificial intelligence, agricultural technology, climate technology and enterprise software are among the priority sectors, while the program is open to applications from all innovative startups. The support is provided as investment rather than non-repayable grants, and applications are evaluated according to specific eligibility criteria.
