Çakır, the new-generation cruise missile developed by Roketsan using domestic capabilities, reached a new stage in launch tests conducted from different platforms.
During tests conducted over two separate days, Çakır was launched from ground vehicles. Using its new-generation infrared seeker, it accurately hit one land target and one sea target.
The missile also successfully completed an extended-range test carried out with a new fuel system.
Can be used with different platforms
Previously launched from armed unmanned aerial vehicle platforms, Çakır demonstrated through the ground-vehicle tests that it can be integrated with different platforms. The missile can be used against land and sea targets.
Çakır stands out for its low observability and high accuracy. Thanks to its navigation systems, the missile can be used against different types of targets and in various weather conditions.
The missile also has capabilities including resistance to countermeasures, the ability to carry out repeated missions, target updates via a data link and mission cancellation.
