Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev praised Türkiye in his speech at the 13th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Ankara. Tokayev said, “In more than 100 years, Türkiye has become one of the most important countries in the world. It is a country with incredible international prestige.”
Tokayev stated, “Thanks to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s strong policies, the socio-economic potential of brotherly Türkiye has significantly developed.” The President of Kazakhstan emphasized that Türkiye today holds a solid position on the global stage as both a regional and global power.

“Unity is very important in the Turkic era”
Describing the Organization of Turkic States as a “unique, unparalleled organization,” Tokayev said, “When we say the Turkic era, unity actually has a very important meaning here. We are trying to develop the heritage in the Turkic world by striving to remain loyal to the legacy of our ancestors.”
Stating that cooperation should be carried out on the basis of respect for the sovereignty and national interests of member states, Tokayev said, “The Organization of Turkic States is not a military alliance and should not be in the future.” Tokayev, who said that the organization’s activities spread to approximately 60 areas, some of which overlap, called for clarifying priorities and strengthening the institutional structure.
Trade volume approached 10 billion dollars
Announcing that Kazakhstan’s trade volume with OTS members increased by approximately 40 percent this year, approaching 10 billion dollars, Tokayev said that the Turkic World 2040 Vision should be implemented and the organization’s 2027-2031 strategy should be adopted as soon as possible, focusing on trade, investment, financing, agriculture, and digital technologies.
Tokayev stated that freight transportation on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) increased by 30 percent and transit transportation by 90 percent in the first nine months of the year, emphasizing that the modernization of seaports on the corridor is a priority.

Artificial intelligence and cybersecurity proposal
Tokayev drew attention to the Alem.ai Artificial Intelligence Center and the Kazakh Artificial Intelligence Research University in Astana; he said that other member countries could also benefit from the Trans-Caspian fiber optic line opened between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Tokayev also suggested accelerating efforts to establish a Cybersecurity Council.
In his speech, Tokayev thanked Azerbaijan for its term presidency and expressed his belief that Türkiye, which took over the term presidency, would successfully continue the work. Tokayev also suggested inviting Russia as a member or observer to the organization.
