Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin announced that the domestic smartphone project being developed with ASELSAN had reached a new milestone. Şahin said, "We have reached an important stage in the domestic phone project we are working on with ASELSAN."
Emphasizing that the project was not based solely on the label of domestic production, Şahin said, "Our aim is not merely to produce a domestic phone. We want to develop a product that can compete strongly in its segment through its technology, hardware, software and user experience."
Production site will be in Anatolia
Regarding where the device would be produced, Şahin said, "The phone our Turkish engineers are working on will be produced in Anatolia." The province or facility where production will take place was not disclosed.

That day, Şahin introduced the company's technologies to journalists at Türk Telekom's pavilion at the COP31 summit site in Antalya. Türk Telekom is responsible for the communications infrastructure of the climate summit scheduled for November 9–20.
Hardware from ASELSAN, software from Türk Telekom
In the project, ASELSAN is handling the device's engineering work, hardware architecture and production operations. Software integration, user services, the distribution network and branding are the responsibility of Türk Telekom. TTT İnovasyon is also involved in the project. Satellite communications is expected to be one of the device's prominent features, enabling the phone to provide communication outside cellular coverage.
Şahin said they had brought together Türk Telekom's expertise in communications technologies, research and development, engineering and 5G with ASELSAN's engineering and production capabilities in the same project. He said they aimed to combine Türkiye's engineering strength, production capacity and broad user ecosystem.

The domestic phone is targeted for launch in 2027. The device's brand name, processor, price and sales schedule have not yet been announced.
