Türkiye’s Burgazada warship joins NATO naval exercises in the Mediterranean
Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence announced that the Turkish warship Burgazada took part in exercises in the Mediterranean as part of the mission of NATO Standing Maritime Group 2. On October 3, the ship trained with Spanish and Italian naval vessels, and on October 7, 2026, with vessels from the NATO group.

On October 3, Burgazada conducted training with the Spanish naval vessels ESPS Blas de Lezo and ESPS Patiño, as well as the Italian naval vessel ITS Martinengo.
On October 7, 2026, the ship also conducted an exercise in the central Mediterranean with vessels from NATO Standing Maritime Group 2. The ministry shared photographs from the exercises.
