Türkiye's machinery exports reached $21.3 billion in the January–September period of 2026, marking an all-time high. Consolidated exports by the machinery manufacturing industry, including free zones, rose 1.5% from the same period last year.
Germany and the United States stood out
Germany was Türkiye's top machinery export destination during the nine-month period. Exports to the country rose 8.7% to $2.5 billion.
The United States ranked second with $1.8 billion in imports. Machinery exports to the United States increased by 27.6%.
Internal combustion engines led exports
The highest exports in the sector during the nine-month period came from the "internal combustion engines and parts" product group, valued at $1.8 billion.
Exports in each of the construction and mining machinery, pumps and compressors, washing and drying machines, tractors, agricultural and forestry machinery, turbines, jet engines, and hydraulic cylinders categories also exceeded $1 billion.

Exports over the last 12 months reached $28.8 billion
Annualized machinery exports, calculated using data from the last 12 months, rose to $28.8 billion. During the same period, machinery imports increased 4.6% to $47 billion.
Global competition and price pressure intensified
Suda Kayhan Yılmaz, chair of the Machinery Exporters' Association, said competition in international trade had intensified as global growth expectations declined this year.
Yılmaz said China's exports in September had risen 36% year on year, increasing price pressure worldwide, and noted that the European Union's trade deficit with China in goods had reached €200 billion in the first half of 2026.
Yılmaz said European industry was calling for stronger trade defense instruments against imports and tighter checks on product standards.
The "Made in the European Union" approach, which plans to require production within Europe for products covered by the European Union's net-zero technologies framework, could eventually extend to sectors beyond automotive. This could steer investment toward countries able to meet the necessary production conditions.
