Cabo Verde goalkeeper Vozinha said he had lost his peace and privacy in daily life amid increased attention from the football community.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper said that, if he were given the choice between the life he has now and his previous life, he would choose his former life. Vozinha explained that even routine tasks had become difficult and that people wanted to take photos with him or get his autograph whenever he went to a restaurant.

Vozinha, who signed with Chilean side Colo-Colo in August, said people filming him was the biggest change in his life. The experienced player said there was not much he could do about the situation.
He turned off his Instagram notifications
Vozinha said he had no privacy left and explained that he turned off his Instagram notifications to avoid becoming preoccupied with checking who was following him.

The goalkeeper said he did not know much about Instagram and had lost his peace and calm. Vozinha said a person working in the team's catering department told him that he had 1 billion followers, which he initially thought was a joke. He later said he saw on his phone screen that his follower count was above 1 million.
Cabo Verde were eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after losing 3-2 to Argentina in the round of 32. Vozinha became one of the team's symbolic figures at a tournament that drew the attention of the football community to the side.
