President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Türkiye’s capital markets would emerge from the fund investigation “much stronger and much healthier,” cleansed of “greedy parasites that feed on the savings of small investors.” Speaking to AK Party lawmakers in Ankara, he said those who profited unfairly would answer before Turkish courts, and that “disaster profiteers” trying to wear down the economy would lose.

Erdoğan said administrative and legal steps were under way to repay savers without burdening the public purse.
Addressing his party’s lawmakers, Erdoğan added: “Whoever preys on the nation’s trust, on the bread of the poor, on the hopes of the stranded, the needy and the oppressed, this party will go after them. It has always been this way, and it will be so now and tomorrow.” He said the party had emerged stronger from every crisis and would do so again.
