Türkiye’s embassy in Sofia hosts Constitutional Court delegation
Türkiye’s embassy in Sofia hosted Constitutional Court member Assoc. Prof. Recai Akyel and rapporteur Dr. Eren Can Benakay, who were in the Bulgarian capital for a conference marking the anniversary of Bulgaria’s Constitutional Court.
Türkiye’s embassy in Sofia on Oct. 14 hosted Assoc. Prof. Recai Akyel, a member of Türkiye’s Constitutional Court, and rapporteur Dr. Eren Can Benakay at the ambassador’s residence. The two were in Sofia to attend a conference marking the anniversary of the founding of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The embassy said it was pleased to welcome the delegation. Photos from the meeting show Akyel being presented with a souvenir on behalf of the embassy.
Bulgaria’s Constitutional Court was established under the country’s 1991 constitution. Contacts between the constitutional courts of Türkiye and Bulgaria are part of the wider legal cooperation between the two neighbors.
